The role
You will contribute to providing strategic insights, informed decision-making, and guidance on market risk, ensuring robust risk management practices and supporting the company's overall risk strategy.
Your Responsibilities
1. Support the development of comprehensive market scenarios and energy market risk assessments, anticipating emerging risks and their implications for the company's activities.
2. Perform analysis of market risk using models such as earnings at risk, value at risk, mark to market, volumetric, and stress testing.
3. Develop and manage market risk information systems.
4. Support the Energy Markets team by providing risk analysis and assisting in the preparation of trading strategies to maximize returns within accepted risk parameters.
5. Conduct situation analysis to understand market forces affecting business performance.
6. Analyze market risk and develop models to assess price, volume, and plant failure risks.
7. Prepare and present detailed reports and dashboards on modelling outputs and market risk insights.
About you
1. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Management, with 2-5 years of experience in a risk analyst role in energy or financial markets.
2. Strong data science and quantitative analysis skills; experience in energy market modelling is preferred.
3. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to present information effectively to stakeholders.
4. Proficiency in presenting & communicating information, applying expertise & technology, analyzing, and formulating strategies & concepts.
