Overview
Exciting opportunity for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join the Department of Health's Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (NPICU) in the new K Block campus of Royal Hobart Hospital. The unit has 28 beds and focuses on family‐integrated care.
Responsibilities
* Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff to ensure efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
* Assists the NUM with planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through coordination of day‐to‐day patient care activities, including patient flow.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Demonstrated clinical experience in the relevant practice area with capacity to provide clinical leadership, exercise professional judgment and initiative, and work with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to understand the business of the unit/service, deliver best outcomes within available resources, and apply patient flow principles and discharge planning in a contemporary healthcare framework.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to evaluation, innovation and development of services provided by the unit/service and review of clinical practice policy, procedures and protocols.
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
* Current Working with Children Registration.
* Desirable: Holds or is working towards relevant postgraduate qualifications.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary range: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro rata). 12 % superannuation contribution on top of this amount.

Employment Details
* Employment type: Fixed‐term or Permanent, part‐time (38 hours per fortnight), shift worker.
* Hours to be negotiated with successful applicant.
