The Role:
The Trainee Treatment Services role supports the safe and compliant operation of Council's water and wastewater treatment facilities through structured on-the-job training. Under the guidance of experienced Operators and the Service Delivery Lead, the trainee assists with operations and rotates across sites to develop skills and progress towards a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations.
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
* Follow all instructions and directions provided by the Supervisor/Manager, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard and within the scope of skills, competence, and training
* Assist with the daily operations of water and wastewater treatment plants under supervision, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements
* Support the monitoring of treatment processes, plant performance, and water quality by conducting readings, collecting samples, and performing basic testing as directed.
* Accurately record operational data in logs, systems, and reports to support compliance and operational performance.
* Actively participate in all training and development activities required to successfully complete the traineeship. Apply theoretical knowledge gained through training to practical tasks on the job, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
Requirements & Attributes:
* Secondary school education to Year 10 standard
* Physically fit & able to perform manual labour in a tropical outdoor environment
* Strong attention to detail & communication skills
* Ability to maintain a high-level focus on safety & following processes and procedures
* Construction White Card
* C Class Drivers Licence
* Can provide two work or school related references
* Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccinations are required as part of occupational health and safety protocols
* Successful candidates will be required to pass an aptitude test and a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing

Community Solutions is a non-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business, providing apprentices and trainees to a variety of different businesses throughout Queensland. We provide apprentices and trainees important career guidance and opportunity to earn while they learn. Dedicated Field Officers are assigned to apprentices and trainees to provide ongoing support to completing their chosen trade qualification.
