Civil Construction Site Team Leader
(Excavator Operator / Working Supervisor)

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Site Team Leader to lead small civil construction crews and take a hands‑on role in the delivery of works.
About the Role
This is a working leadership role responsible for coordinating and delivering civil construction activities on site while leading a small team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supervising on‑site civil construction activities
* Working hands‑on alongside the site crew
* Managing a team of approximately 3–5 workers
* Acting as the primary on‑site representative in the absence of the Construction Manager
* Reading and interpreting engineering plans and drawings
* Establishing and calculating RL levels from design drawings and benchmarks
* Setting out works from survey pegs
* Coordinating subcontractors and site deliveries as required
* Managing site safety, environmental and quality requirements
* Preparing weekly works plans
* Completing and submitting daily works reports
About You
You are an experienced civil construction professional who leads by example and takes pride in delivering quality work safely and efficiently.
You will demonstrate:
* A minimum of 3 years experience in civil construction, ideally on subdivision projects
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate small teams
* A hands‑on, proactive and solutions‑focused approach
* High attention to detail and a commitment to productivity and waste minimisation
* A strong understanding of WHS and environmental requirements
* Clear communication and reporting skills
* A professional attitude and pride in maintaining a neat and well‑organised worksite
* Physical fitness suitable for civil construction work
Skills, Licences & Experience
Essential / Preferred qualifications include:
* Proven civil construction experience
* Excavator operation experience. Trenching bulk/detail excavation
* Construction Industry White Card
* Truck licence (preferred) – occasional operation of semi‑trailer for transporting plant and materials
* Pipelaying experience (advantageous)
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday
* Typically 6:30am to 3:30pm / 5:00pm (depending on site requirements)
Location
* Majority of projects located on the Central Coast and Newcastle
