**Position Summary**
Uses problem-solving skills, tact, and discretion to oversee and direct the Tyre Centre and its staff. Implements and upholds proper Tyre Centre and general safety procedures and standards. Maintains courteous member service at all times while monitoring a smooth flow of members in and out of the Tyre Centre.
**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Develops, coaches, counsels, and directs Tyre Centre personnel
- Mentors and provides direct assistance to the Tyre Centre Supervisors
- Monitors employee performance and provides proactive feedback to promote teamwork and accountability
- Participates in the employment process by making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination
- Participates in department employee evaluations
- Responds to employee concerns using problem solving skills, tact and discretion in accordance with the Costco Employee Agreement and other applicable regulations
- Approves timecards and other reports
- Implements and upholds proper Tyre Centre and general safety procedures and standards
- Addresses Tyre Centre budget, training, staffing, supply order and scheduling needs
- Prepares, reviews, and adjusts Tyre Centre schedules accordingly
- Performs torque wrench certification testing monthly
- Implements sales and merchandising plans for the department created by the suppliers
- Reviews department sales and productivity figures
- Participates in sales and approves product refunds and register overrides
- Maintains a commitment to a secure controlled environment with no inventory "shrink"
- Communicates with the Receiving Department, Buyers, and Inventory Auditors regarding orders, quantities, statuses, prices, deliveries, and promotions of merchandise
- Performs Tyre Centre services as needed, including installing, filling, and balancing tyres
- Performs the opening and closing procedures as outlined in the Tyre Centre Forms
- Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery, equipment, and implements
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides and makes certain prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
**Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery**
- Computer, calculator, cash register, phone, printer, member automobile, balancer, torque wrench, dolly, mounter, impact gun, hydraulic hoist and power jack.
Education/Training:
- High School Certificate or higher; or Trade qualification
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certificate II in Tyre Fitting (Ideal)
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
Experience/Skills:
- Previous managerial or supervisory experience (Ideal)
- Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and AS400
- Mechanical aptitude and ability
- Robust customer service, communication and interpersonal and skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Basic math skills
