Compensation: $120,443 to $131,749 pa (HEW7) – inclusive of $101,775 to $111,330 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading.
Employment type: Full‑time (ongoing) – hybrid option available at Gardens Point.
Open to: Current QUT staff with ongoing full‑time work rights in Australia. Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islander people who are not QUT staff are also eligible and encouraged to apply.
About the Role
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Engineering. The role requires exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills to deliver high‑quality financial management advice and services. In this key position, you will provide sound financial analysis to support decision making, advise leaders on periodic financial planning, budgeting, costing, forecasting, monitoring and reporting, and contribute to the Faculty's financial sustainability and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide sound financial analysis to support decision making.
- Advise leaders on periodic financial planning, budgeting, costing, forecasting, monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to the Faculty’s financial sustainability and strategic goals.
- Develop, review and analyse large budgets using a range of corporate financial systems.
- Apply financial governance principles and provide accurate advice on financial and other data to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with diverse client groups and manage relationships effectively.
What You Need To Succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree in finance or a related business discipline with at least four years of relevant experience.
- Financial management skills in developing, reviewing and analysing large budgets using corporate financial systems.
- Demonstrated ability to provide accurate advice on financial and other data in a explicit and concise manner to a variety of stakeholders.
- Well‑developed analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to gather and integrate information from several sources.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation of processes and services.
- Highly developed digital literacy skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and financial packages such as Oracle, and ability to develop reports.
- High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish rapport, manage collaborative working relationships, and engage with diverse client groups.
