About the role
As Construction Manager you will lead delivery of a major 200 plus-unit medium density residential project in Melbourne's West. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage and mentor a team of Site Managers, drive program, quality and safety outcomes, and keep the project running smoothly from start to handover. You'll take ownership of construction delivery across the project, ensuring time, cost, quality and safety targets are met while building a strong, accountable site culture.
In this role you will
* Lead construction delivery for a 200-unit medium density site from program through to handover
* Manage and mentor a team of Site Managers to ensure performance, communication and reporting standards are met
* Develop and maintain programs, budgets, resourcing plans and construction sequencing
* Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver scope and milestones
* Drive QA systems, routine inspections, and prompt, organised defect management
* Monitor costs, manage variations, and support commercial outcomes through strong planning and subcontractor engagement
* Champion a proactive WHS-first culture, ensuring compliance across all site activities, inductions, permits, SWMS, audits and reporting
About you
* A proven track record managing both Class 1 and Class 2 buildings (delivered end-to-end)
* Strong demonstrated commitment to WHS compliance and building a high-performing safety culture
* Superior leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills (able to motivate teams and manage conflict effectively)
* Solid experience in construction management, ideally within medium density residential
* Strong understanding of construction methodology, services coordination, quality assurance and regulatory requirements
* Relevant qualification (Construction Management with strong management experience
