Selection criteria includes but is not limited to:
* FRANZCP or eligibility for the accelerated RANZCP pathway for ESP Specialist Pathway or RANZCP specialist assessment with substantial comparability assessment concluded—contact us for guidance.
* Culturally competent care and cross-cultural communication skills.
* Track record of leadership, innovation, clinical governance, and teaching.
* Knowledge of contemporary psychiatric practices and issues with rural and remote contexts, ideally within general adult psychiatry.
* Evidence of appropriate expertise in the skills of a consultant psychiatrist with ability to travel to practice in rural areas.
* Achievements as a clinical leader and innovator.
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and across service boundaries.
* Willingness to participate in teaching and education initiatives as well as supervising medical staff.
