We are looking for someone who has strong experience working in economic development of Indigenous groups. To be successful, you need to have the following skills and experience:
**Essential**:
- A high level of cultural competency, including:
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous Australians
- Demonstrated high level ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people, and
- Demonstrated high level capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
- Analytical skills, with proven experience in process design
- Personal drive and the ability to adapt to changing priorities to deliver outcomes under pressure and exercise sound judgement in strategically handling complex and sensitive work
- A strong understanding of government processes, including Cabinet and legislation processes
- Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching and performance management skills
- Able to undertake regular travel between Adelaide and regional areas
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including high level listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and prepare written reports and briefings
- Ability to work in a fluid environment, remaining flexible, agile and adaptable supporting colleagues at short notice.
- A valid Australian driver's license
**Desirable**:
- Experience in economic development or program delivery.
**Qualification**:
- Tertiary qualification in business, economic or legal studies or equivalent relevant experience.
