Position overview
We are seeking the services of an experienced Senior Project Manager with the capabilities to lead and manage the delivery of projects within the Data & Digital Delivery Office, in the Program Services team.
The Data & Digital Group provides information, computing, and communications solutions to enable the Bureau to provide the highest quality of observations, weather, climate, ocean, and hydrological products and services to Australia. The Delivery Office provides project delivery services, and this role will be key to delivering significant projects and programs undertaken through the Delivery Office.
The role will be accountable for project planning, delivery of outputs and outcomes set out in the plan(s) and managing key activities through the project lifecycle in accordance with the Bureau Delivery Framework. In the immediate term, this role is integral to the delivery of the National Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program, a program will see approximately 1600 flood warning sites acquired and remediated over the remaining 8 years of delivery. The scope involves upgrades and new installations of observing and communications equipment across Australia, including many remote sites. Site-specific scope ranges from minor component upgrades (such as modem replacement) through to full deployment of new automated range gauges and water level gauges, and upgrade of the flood warning network communications infrastructure.
The Flood Warning Network (FWN) Infrastructure Delivery Senior Project Manager will report to Infrastructure Delivery Senior Program manager, working with other project managers, technical SMEs and other SMEs across the Bureau to plan and develop detailed documentation for the field installation and commissioning of in scope sites and execute against the plan.

The ideal candidate is a person who thrives in a team-based workplace, is dedicated to achieving outcomes using effective and efficient methods, is able to communicate clearly with a range of people, has advanced project management skills and understands how to tailor processes based on each project's characteristics to ensure the right level of control.
The ideal candidate will work alongside the other stream of the National Flood Warning Infrastructure Program to deliver to the business outcomes. They will also demonstrate a growth mindset and be flexible and able to support and lead where required.
