Head of Financial Control & Group Reporting | $240,000 + STI
Join a leading Australian logistics business as Head of Financial Control, reporting directly to a Group CFO. You will manage 3 direct reports and play a pivotal role in a high-performing finance team. This role offers full ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and controls, with plenty of scope to lead improvement and optimisation initiatives. Perfect for a current Financial Controller looking for a fresh and rewarding challenge.
Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation of monthly, half-year and year-end financial statements in line with ASX and statutory reporting requirements
* Manage the external reporting process, including coordination of ASX releases and board reporting packs
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain group accounting policies
* Oversee the month-end close process across the group to ensure accuracy and timeliness
* Strengthen and monitor internal controls and governance frameworks
* Partner with operational leaders to provide financial oversight across core logistics operations
* Manage treasury, cash flow forecasting, and banking relationships
* Lead and develop a team of 3 finance professionals
* Support the CFO by monitoring and communicating the group's capital requirements and coordinating funds flow
Expertise / Qualifications
* CA / CPA qualified with relevant financial leadership experience
* Ideally Big4 or Mid-tier chartered accounting experience prior to transition into industry
* Ability to be hands on with proven experience driving financial performance across a team oriented environment
* Superior financial reporting and technical accounting experience
* Experience in the development of internal controls and financial policies
* Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
* Previous experience in a capital intensive environment will be looked upon favourably
