Fixed term full-time role until 17-July-2026.
About The Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services, policy leadership, and cross-sector collaboration. It supports early childhood and school education systems, and directly provides school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About The Division
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by central office divisions, collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners.
SRS regions connect central office, schools, and service providers to support local interventions and drive Education State targets. The 17 areas provide insights into local trends to inform policy and programs. This role is located in the Student Support Services (SSS) Branch, Barwon Area, South Western Victoria Region, SRS.
The SSS Branch is a multi-disciplinary team including psychologists, occupational therapists, behaviour analysts, speech pathologists and social workers.
About The Role
Working in SSS is meaningful and collaborative. You will use professional skills to provide specialised support at the individual, group, school, and area level, in partnership with other SSS team members to improve teaching, learning and wellbeing strategies for students needing support.
Key tasks include assessment, consultation, support, and program advice; strong communication, report-writing, networking, and liaison with education communities; and the ability to work autonomously. If you are passionate about child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, complex presentations, and consulting with educational staff on behavioural and environmental adjustments to support learning engagement, this role in the SSS is for you.
