Mental Health Support Specialist
The role of a Mental Health Support Specialist is to provide personalized support to individuals with mental illness, helping them achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
This involves working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and preferences, and developing tailored plans to help them build their capacity, manage their disability, and enhance their participation in the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide individualized support to clients, enhancing their choice and control over their services.
* Collaborate with clients, families, carers, and other service providers to identify, design, and coordinate mental health support.
Requirements
* A tertiary qualification in Peer Work or Mental Health (minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate IV in Mental Health) or equivalent training.
* And/or a minimum two years of experience in mental health-related work.
* Specialist knowledge and skills in psychosocial recovery, recovery frameworks, evidence-based practices, mental health, and service navigation within the mental health system.
