Purchasing Leader
As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives that drive cost savings and improve supplier relationships. This is a newly created, full-time position offering significant leadership scope, career stability, and the opportunity to shape procurement strategy across multiple commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement procurement strategies, optimize vendor frameworks and negotiate contracts to achieve best value for the organization.
* Oversee purchasing systems, inventory management, and delivery schedules to meet project deadlines while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including estimators, project managers, and accounts to streamline workflows, improve communication, and enhance overall business performance.
* Maintain and strengthen supplier and subcontractor relationships through regular engagement, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in construction procurement or purchasing with a strong track record of driving cost savings and improving supplier relationships.
* Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
* Excellent leadership, organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines.
* Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards related to procurement and construction.
