About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – RPF, and maintaining a dotted line to the General Manager – Post-Harvest Infrastructure Development, this key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all Reliability & Maintenance (R&M) functions across our managed sites.
You'll lead a multi-disciplinary team across Electrical, Refrigeration, Mechanical, and Facilities, driving the strategic planning and execution of preventative and reactive maintenance programs. This role will suit a proactive and hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the R&M team to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all assets.
* Design and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime.
* Respond to breakdowns and unplanned maintenance with minimal disruption to site operations.
* Monitor asset performance and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
* Oversee contractor engagement and ensure high standards of service delivery.
* Partner with internal stakeholders to align maintenance efforts with operational goals.
* Manage and report on maintenance budgets and resource allocation.
* Provide mentorship, technical training, and support to Maintenance Coordinators and the wider team.
* Support capital projects with input on asset lifecycle and reliability considerations.
About You
You are an experienced Reliability & Maintenance Manager with a proven background in food manufacturing, processing, or fresh produce environments. You're passionate about safety, operational efficiency, and team development, and you bring both strategic oversight and the ability to roll up your sleeves when needed.
What You'll Bring
* 10+ years' experience in industrial or production environments, with at least 5 in a senior R&M leadership role.
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
* Strong technical background across electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and facility systems.
* Expertise in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
* Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience managing budgets, leading teams, and driving continuous improvement.
* Sound knowledge of safety, regulatory, and GMP standards in food environments.
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Project management and/or OHS certifications (desirable).
