Job Title: Operational Risk Specialist

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global financial services firm with a strong presence in Australia, working within the Wealth Management business on a contract basis.
The primary function of this role is to ensure that operational risks remain within appropriate appetite levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct ongoing surveillance of key controls implemented by the Investment Solutions team to identify and address potential risk issues.
* Provide guidance and solutions to the Head of Investment Solutions on risk-related matters.
* Prepare Key Risk Indicator reporting for Executive Management, highlighting areas of concern and recommendations for improvement.
* Manage the implementation of action plans from incidents, reviews, or audits to mitigate risks and enhance processes.
* Conduct gap analysis on processes and procedures performed by the business unit to identify areas for improvement.
* Ensure Investment Solutions policy and procedure documentation is subject to ongoing review and update.
* Assist with the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment program to evaluate and improve risk management practices.
Requirements
* A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in First Line of Defence Ops risk in financial services.
* A University Degree in Finance, Business, or Economics (preferable but not essential).
* Recognised industry qualifications (preferred but not essential).
* Desirable qualifications include ASIC RG 146 and ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser (ADA Level 1) accreditations.
