Job Overview: Ensure locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant and infrastructure are repaired and maintained to the required standard of safety and reliability for efficient freight services.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct routine and corrective maintenance and fault repair according to prescribed methods and best practice.
* Perform all work in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements and legislative policies, as well as technical and operational specifications.
* Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems.
* Report actual work performed against scheduled work program.
Requirements:
* Electrical trade qualification or equivalent.
* Locomotive and wagon experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock would be highly regarded.
* Strong fault finding and troubleshooting experience, with strong ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
* Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and instructions including the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
* Computer literate.
