About the Position:
The Food Services Assistant works under the guidance of the Chef/Cook to implement, monitor, and evaluate the Food Safety Program (FSP). They assist in providing a variety of quality food and beverages that meet residents' individual needs and preferences. The Food Services Cook works alongside the Chef Supervisor to prepare, cook, and serve nutritious, tasty, and appealing meals for residents, ensuring compliance with Food Safety Program guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing, serving, presenting, and delivering high-quality meals and beverages to residents, ensuring they meet individual dietary requirements and preferences as specified by the dietitian, speech therapist, or clinical care team.
* Contribute to menu planning and the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of the Food Safety Program (FSP) in partnership with the Chef Supervisor.
* Report stock items for ordering and maintain a clean and safe work environment by promoting safe work practices.
* Support ongoing quality review of the FSP, including tasks like recording temperatures and receipting goods.
* Ensure the timely and friendly delivery of meals, and report any concerns regarding food and beverages to the Registered Nurse in charge.
* Perform any other tasks within the employee's skills, as directed by the organisation.
Requirements:
* Food Handling Course.
* A relevant certificate (e.g., Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery).
* Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
* Experience in residential aged care, hospitality, or catering.
* Each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
