Senior Cardiologist Wanted
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cardiologist to join our well-established Cardiology Department in southern Tasmania. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to the general clinical workload and play a key leadership role in the delivery of electrophysiology services.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in electrophysiology and cardiac devices, with a strong track record of clinical leadership in tertiary or large regional hospital settings. They will be committed to evidence-based care, teaching, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology services with a focus on heart rhythm disorders
* Lead weekly case discussions for complex device implantation and ablation
* Support nurse-led clinics in electrophysiology and rhythm management
* Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
* Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, and ongoing service development
* Actively participate in research and maintain a strong academic presence
Requirements:
* Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology
* Sub-specialisation in electrophysiology and cardiac devices strongly preferred
* Current or eligible Specialist Registration with AHPRA
* Demonstrated clinical leadership in tertiary or large regional hospital settings
Benefits:
* Base salary: $216,300 - $296,640 per annum (dependent on experience and seniority)
