About this role
An exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior Corporate Secretarial Assistant to join our close‐knit, friendly national team. You will support our Private Enterprise (PVE) – Corporate Secretarial team in delivering consistent, high‐quality compliance, governance, and company administration services across our diverse client base, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met in collaboration with stakeholders. This role is based in our Sydney office, with hybrid and flexible working options available.
Key responsibilities
* Provide support and address day‐to‐day issues and queries from PVE team members in relation to Corporate Secretarial work, including monitoring of CorpSec email inbox.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including ASIC, clients and teams from all Grant Thornton Australia offices.
* Tracking and management of ASIC lodgements, following up clients as required to ensure that lodgement due dates are met.
* Draft documentation to effect changes to companies, including (but not limited to) change of directors/proprietors, addresses, issue and transfer of shares.
* Company registration, change of company name, address, change of proprietors and deregistration/cessation.
* Establishment of discretionary and unit trusts.
* Attend to Annual Company Statements and ASIC invoices.
* Maintain knowledge and keep up to date on changes to the Corporations Act and ASIC requirements.
* Help provide coaching and training opportunities to other team members and proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Other ad hoc tasks, including updating and maintaining data in client databases, preparing fees, scanning and filing, performing company searches.
Skills and experience
* Significant experience in a corporate secretarial, corporate governance or compliance role (professional services experience highly regarded).
* Understanding of the Corporations Act and ASIC requirements.
* Highly organized and collaborative, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously in a fast‐paced environment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
Desirable
* Experience in the use of corporate secretarial software (such as CAS360).
