Our client, a Federal Government Agency at the forefront of delivering services to millions of Australians, is seeking an experienced Automation Software Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team utilising cutting-edge technology to enhance service delivery and transform government platforms.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts spanning mobile applications, web interfaces, APIs, and performance testing. You'll collaborate closely with developers and the Test Automation Lead to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for mobile (iOS and Android), web, and API platforms.
* Contribute to and uphold automation frameworks and adhere to established best practices and standards.
* Analyse test results thoroughly, identify defects, and liaise with development teams to expedite issue resolution.
* Integrate automated testing into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for seamless software delivery.
* Engage actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Technical Expertise
* Hands-on experience with mobile automation using Appium and WebdriverIO for native and hybrid applications.
* Working knowledge of Android Studio and Xcode for test execution and debugging.
* Experience in web automation using Selenium and API automation leveraging Rest Assured and SOAP UI.
* Familiarity with backend system validations including DB2, MongoDB, Kafka messaging, and AEM automation.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to guide adoption of software development methods and tools.
* Proven skills in designing complex software and system components adhering to accepted architectural standards.
* Expertise in integrating releases, configuration management, and software deployment processes.
* Experience in designing test cases, interpreting acceptance criteria, and mapping test scripts accordingly.
* Ability to obtain Baseline security clearance is mandatory.
The role offers a full-time, hybrid working arrangement based from capital cities in Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, or Victoria, with initial full-time onsite engagement for the first six weeks.
