 
        
        The Archdiocese of Hobart is the expression of the Catholic Church in Tasmania, the Archdiocese covers the whole of Tasmania, including Catholic Church parishes throughout Tasmania. Chancery Services provides executive, administrative and logistical support to the Archbishop and Vicar General in the administration of the diocese and its Parishes, Pastoral Offices, diocesan entities, and agencies through the provision of services across the areas of governance, risk and compliance, and records management.
Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a permanent part time Personal Assistant to the Vicar General. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of the Vicar General's Office in line with the Mission of the Catholic Church.
Responsibilities:
 * Correspondence, diary & calendar management
 * Managing travel requirements of the Vicar General
 * Prepare meeting material including agendas and briefing notes and minute taking
 * Assist with preparation of booklets and documentation
 * Meeting preparation & office support
 * Clergy assistance
 * Processing of Clergy faculty requests
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
 * Demonstrated experience in the provision of quality executive and administrative support services or similar role
 * Demonstrated ability to present as a welcoming and approachable point of contact with good communication and interpersonal skills
 * High level of communication and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders including priests, parishes, CEO's and other diocesan staff.
 * Proven high level of discretion and a willingness to respond positively and adapt to change
 * Sound time management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
 * An intermediate-high Level of competence in the use of mainstream information technology including Microsoft software platforms such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Edge, Experience in the use and management of databases will be an advantage
 * Have a depth of personal faith and an interaction style that instils peace, integrity and openness to all parties.
Requirements:
 * Active understanding and commitment to the identity and mission of the Archdiocese of Hobart; and an extensive understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.
 * Ability and willingness to undertake the relevant employee screening processes, including the provision of a National Police Criminal History Check satisfactory to the Archdiocese of Hobart and registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania).
