About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Melbourne Indirect Tax team. This is an opportunity to be part of a high-caliber, advisory-led team that works closely with our Corporate Tax and Business Services practices to deliver commercially focused advice and practical solutions.
Our client base is broad and sophisticated, spanning family groups, privately owned businesses, multinational organisations and listed companies across a range of industries.
You will work on a diverse mix of complex and interesting matters across GST, stamp duty and land tax, with the opportunity to contribute to strategic transactions, structuring projects, revenue authority interactions and day-to-day advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality indirect tax advice and solutions across a diverse portfolio of client engagements.
* Develop and articulate technical positions on complex, emerging and commercially significant indirect tax issues.
* Prepare clear, client-ready advice, reports and other technical deliverables to a high professional standard.
* Review work prepared by junior team members and contribute to their coaching, development and technical capability.
* Build trusted client relationships through responsive, high-quality service and confident participation in meetings and discussions.
* Contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture with a focus on collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in indirect tax or areas of consulting requiring similar analytical skills within professional services, a law firm, government or a similar advisory environment.
* A degree in Commerce, Law, or a combined qualification in Law and Business or Commerce.
* Strong technical capability, with the ability to apply legislation and guidance in a practical and commercial way.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset and an interest in supporting the development of others.
