As the Field Services Resource Manager, you'll partner with FieldCore Event Management and GE Gas Power to plan, resource, and execute outage events safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
You will lead a team of skilled field technicians, manage complex resourcing requirements and address on-site challenges with confidence. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills will be essential to your success in this role.
There is a requirement for intrastate, interstate and international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
* Resource Planning & Assignment: Collaborate with Service Managers and Outage Managers to allocate qualified technicians for outage events, ensuring optimal resourcing and timely execution.
* Core Crew Development: Identify ideal team compositions, oversee their deployment, and monitor performance throughout the outage season to ensure continual improvement.
* Training & Development: Evaluate training needs and ensure all technicians maintain required certifications and skillsets; provide coaching to enhance team capability.
* Performance & Engagement: Develop, monitor, and drive performance of retained field technicians to boost engagement, productivity, and overall business results.
* Leadership in Challenging Environments: Provide strong leadership in complex and high-pressure situations that may arise on site, including effective conflict resolution and negotiation to maintain operational focus and team cohesion.
* Resource Optimisation: Manage fluctuations in resource demand across the business to maximise technician utilisation and minimise gaps.
* Proactive Gap Management: Anticipate and escalate potential resourcing conflicts early to prevent execution risks.
* Travel & Roster Coordination: Oversee technicians' rotations, travel logistics, and R&R plans to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Strategic Workforce Planning: Identify hiring needs to support project pipeline; collaborate on recruitment and onboarding plans.
* Reporting & Analytics: Provide clear, data-driven reports to leadership on resourcing capacity, labour planning, and third-party supplier integration, including recommendations to close gaps.
* KPI Management: Lead outage resourcing KPI reporting and drive continuous improvement in resource allocation and efficiency.
* Safety Leadership: Actively champion a "Safety First" culture across all sites and teams.
* Administrative Oversight: Approve employee timesheets, expenses, and manage compliance-related documentation.
* Engagement & Travel: Travel quarterly (minimum) to build team engagement, provide leadership presence, and align with site operations.
