Job Summary:

This is a fixed term, full-time role commencing January 2026 up until the end of January 2028.

The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative services for and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority).

The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

* Implement moderation activities to ensure statewide comparability of standards
* Ensure equitable and rigorous ATAR course examinations are developed and provided for implementation in all Western Australian schools and international schools that deliver the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)
* Lead development of examinations in an online environment and ensure the curriculum is shaped to address the shift into an online environment
* Direct and manage development, implementation and review of policies and programs of the Authority associated with Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum, assessment and moderation
* Research best practice in curriculum, standards and moderation
* Plan and develop policies, programs, systems and innovations associated with the work of the Authority
* Manage projects across the Authority
* Ensure the Authority remains responsive to the needs of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Board and the Minister and leading coordination of associated services and support


The Role:

Located in the Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy Directorate, you will provide leadership in the development and review of curriculum, assessment, and standards support materials for Years 7–12.

In this position, you will provide expert guidance on curriculum and assessment to support the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline (Outline) and WACE. Key responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of curriculum standards, coordinating moderation activities to ensure statewide consistency, and contributing to the development of high-quality ATAR course examinations and marking keys.

What You Will Need:

For this role, you will need strong expertise in curriculum and assessment as well as excellent communication skills.

You will have a degree in education or a related field and relevant experience in a similar role.

Excellent time management and organisational skills are also essential for this position.
