Job Overview
The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in providing guests with best‐in‐class meals by leading the Kitchen Team and supervising all venue culinary activities. It requires strong culinary management and leadership skills.
The Sous Chef, under direction of the Executive Chef, supervises, trains, coaches, and drives engagement of the team to ensure the highest‐quality culinary experience for guests. Responsibilities include:
* Supervise the kitchen team in delivering best‐in‐class culinary experiences
* Coach and develop the team and drive Associate engagement
* Drive operational excellence: observe food safety and HACCP standards, maintain equipment, monitor inventory, purchase product, manage food and labour costs, and maintain vendor relationships.
* Standardize recipes and presentations to ensure consistent quality.
* Plan and cost menus for special events, chef choice menus.
* Assist in creating action plans to respond to opportunities and maintain control of kitchens in a fast‐paced environment.
