The Opportunity:

We are seeking a seasoned Accounts Payable professional to lead a team of dedicated and passionate staff.

About the Role:

* Lead, mentor, and manage the accounts payable team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
">
* Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and ensure high performance.
">
* Oversee the processing of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments in accordance with company policies.
">
* Review and approve high-value or complex transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
">
* Assist in the month-end and year-end processing, including the preparation of relevant general journals and assist in the preparation of General ledger reconciliations.
">
* Maintain strong relationships with vendors and address any payment or account issues promptly.
">
* Negotiate payment terms and resolve disputes to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
">
* Prepare and review accounts payable reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
">
* Reconcile accounts payable records with general ledger entries and resolve any discrepancies.
">
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.
">
* Develop and update procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
">
* Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial regulations, and company policies.
">
* Monitor and enforce compliance with procurement and payment procedures to minimize financial risk.
">
* Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and resolve issues.
">
">
Requirements:
">
* Tertiary qualification in accounting, business, commerce, or a related field and/or demonstrated experience.
">
* Extensive experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
">
* Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, accounting principles, and financial controls.
">
* Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
">
