About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious professional to drive the establishment, development, and evolution of our Media Buying practice in Australia. This role will promote and sell Media Buying Services to existing and new clients and sectors in Australia, serving as the face of the offering in the market.

The focus will be on building a media planning, buying, and optimization service for TEAM LEWIS in Australia, delivering fluent, fast-moving, and high-impact media strategies to secure additional revenue and expand the agency's reach.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial Business Development:
* Develop and deliver a unique TEAM LEWIS media proposition to differentiate the agency and drive revenue growth.
* Lead the new business process for media buying services, setting the strategy for targeting prospects and securing opportunities.
* Build and nurture relationships with senior prospect decision-makers, key intermediaries, and influencers to deliver new clients and revenue.
* Work with Marketing on lead generation campaigns; review effectiveness and fine-tune accordingly.
* Write/compile compelling credentials, responding to RFI and RFP requests, with the aim of securing pitch opportunities.
* Proactively source new business leads outside of inbound enquiries and existing client growth.
* Provide strategic counsel to APAC senior peers to help win and grow media buying business.
2. Client Leadership & Business Impact:
* Act as a trusted advisor to high-profile clients, ensuring media strategy and planning is directly tied to business performance.
* Lead notable pitches and client growth strategies, shaping how brands invest in media for maximum ROI.
3. Operational & Performance Excellence:
* Redefine how media impact is measured, moving beyond outdated metrics to engagement, share of voice, and brand fluency.
* Oversee cross-platform media investment, ensuring optimal allocation between linear, digital, and emerging channels.
* Implement AI-driven media optimization, ensuring campaigns react and adapt in real-time to changing audience behaviours.
4. Industry Influence & Thought Leadership:
* Position the agency as an industry leader in the media buying space by contributing to thought leadership, events, and media commentary.
* Stay ahead of shifting industry trends, consumer behaviours, and platform evolutions, ensuring that the agency remains a step ahead of competitors.
* Advocate for radical new approaches to planning and performance measurement, driving media fluency across the organization.
5. Team Leadership & Innovation Culture:
* Develop, mentor, and inspire team members to take on the new skills required to support campaign execution.
* As the function grows, build out a high-performing team of planners, analysts, and strategists to embrace a new era of media thinking.
* Lead cross-functional collaboration with creative, data, and technology teams to drive integrated, media-first campaign solutions.
* Foster a culture of bold, intelligent decision-making, ensuring innovation thrives within the team.
* Lead and participate in agency training, as a trainer and by contributing curriculum ideas.
* Be a collaborative, encouraging, supportive member of the Australia team.
6. General:
* Actively contribute or lead on Australia office initiatives across TEAM LEWIS culture, marketing programs, and HR initiatives.
* Take a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values, and work.
* Support the HR/talent team by promoting both internal and external opportunities at TEAM LEWIS across social media and via the referral scheme.
* Maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of competitors' activities.
* Overall, be a guardian of best marketing practice.
