Environmental Health Specialist
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Health Specialist to contribute to the success of our Environment and Health Services team.
* The primary focus of this position is to assist with food safety assessments, complaints investigations, process applications, implement the sampling program, and deliver community outreach activities.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or relevant experience approved by the Chief Health Officer;
* Undertaking study in a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health AND satisfactory completion of microbiology, food safety and food science units;
* Certificate IV of Food Science (or higher) with a minimum of 40 hours of food microbiology;
* Full working rights in Australia or a current Visa that allows this type of activity;
* A current WA Driver's Licence;
* Possess sound knowledge and understanding of the Food Act 2008, risk management principles and practices;
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively, and provide exceptional customer service.
