Centre Director | ECE | Up to $120k + super | North Shore / Northern Beaches

About Us

At Firefly HR, we work closely with a small number of services that we genuinely believe in. Places where quality is more than a rating, relationships matter, and the way they operate reflects what they say they value.

This is one of those services. It is an established, Exceeding-rated early learning service where children are known by name, families stay connected, and educators genuinely enjoy working together.

After many years of dedicated leadership, the current Director is preparing for retirement. Their departure creates a rare opening for an experienced leader who is looking for more than just their next role. We're looking for someone who would like to become part of a community for years to come, who leads with warmth, professionalism and integrity, and who understands that quality early childhood education is built on trust, consistency and strong relationships.

Why This Role?
* $110K to $120K + super
* Exceeding-rated service with strong foundations already in place
* Off-the-floor Director role with administrative support
* Stable team with excellent retention and long-standing educators
* Values-led not-for-profit organisation
* Supportive Approved Provider who understands early childhood education
* Opportunity to lead without constantly firefighting operational issues
* A genuine long-term opportunity for a leader looking to settle in and make an impact for years to come
About the Role

As Centre Director, you will provide leadership across all aspects of the service while continuing to nurture the culture and quality that already exists. This is not a centre requiring a turnaround. It is a centre looking for the right person to continue and strengthen what has already been built.

* Lead and support a capable team of educators and leaders
* Maintain strong quality and compliance practices across the service
* Guide ongoing quality improvement and professional growth
* Build trusted relationships with families and the wider community
* Support staffing, recruitment and team development
* Work collaboratively with the Approved Provider on future planning and service goals
About the Service

This is a well-established, Exceeding-rated not-for-profit service located within Sydney's northern suburbs.

* Small to Medium Sized service suited for those looking for quality and warmth.
* Boutique feel despite a larger licensed capacity
* Strong occupancy and stable enrolments
* Long-standing reputation within the local community
* Significant investment in professional development and educator growth
* Strong team culture with excellent retention and a collaborative atmosphere
* Relationship-focused philosophy with a genuine sense of belonging
* A service where many families return with younger siblings and maintain their connection over many years
About You

You are an experienced leader who understands that great services are built through people, relationships and consistency. You bring a calm and professional presence, communicate with authenticity and are looking for a role where you can make a meaningful contribution over the long term.

You will ideally bring:

* Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field
* Previous experience as a Centre Director, Centre Manager or senior operational leader
* Strong understanding of the NQF, NQS and regulatory requirements
* Experience leading teams and fostering positive workplace culture
* Current NSW Working With Children Check
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

This role is likely to suit someone who is experienced, mature, professional and looking for a long-term home rather than their next stepping stone. More than anything, we're looking for someone who values people, leads with integrity and wants to become part of something meaningful.

Child Safeguarding

Looking for an individual that will understand, adhere to, and promote The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (the Child Safe Standards). In your position, you will help to take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.

* NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
* Thorough screening
* Reference checks
* National criminal history check
What Now?

Opportunities like this don't become available often. If you're looking for a service where you can lead with purpose, build lasting relationships and genuinely settle in for the years ahead, we would love to have a conversation.
