Established under Chapter 6 of the Act, the role of the Commissioner is to ensure the effective delivery of BCCM dispute resolution and information services. The Commissioner has a number of statutory decision-making responsibilities in this regard The Commissioner also engages with the sector's diverse range of stakeholders, including representative peak bodies such as owners' associations, body corporate management firms, caretakers, service contractors and the real estate and legal professions. - To provide strategic organisational leadership and direction in the delivery of integrated and responsive information and dispute resolution services for clients and stakeholders in the community titles industry with a focus on supporting the effective self-management of community titles schemes in Queensland. Effectively lead professional and administrative staff within the BCCM Office with a focus on growth, development and wellbeing and foster a culture of excellence in the delivery of ethical and expert information and dispute resolution services. Drive strategic and organisational change and lead a culture of continuous improvement to ensure BCCM services deliver public value to government and the community. - Exercise the powers and functions relevant to the role and provide authoritative and high-quality advice and submissions on complex and sensitive operational issues, legislative and procedural reform regarding the provision of services to the community titles industry, to the Attorney-General, Director-General and senior management in the Justice Services Division, senior staff in other government agencies and industry stakeholders. Lead and develop strategic networks and partnerships and engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including the business sector, community titles industry representatives and other government agencies, on complex and sensitive issues impacting on the community titles industry. Provide effective representation of the BCCM Office in government and public forums in a way that facilitates productive working relationships, values diversity, and promotes the goals of the BCCM Office and the Government. Implement and monitor decision making frameworks and policies to ensure BCCM staff make authoritative, fair, well-reasoned and timely decisions when exercising statutory powers in accordance with legislation. Actively participate in and contribute to the corporate responsibilities and functions of the broader Community Justice Services and Justice Services Divisions, of which BCCM is a business unit.
