Thoracic Surgery Opportunities
The Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit provides surgical management of various cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, including ischaemic heart disease, valvular disease, aortic disease, adult congenital heart conditions, and more.
About the Role:
This role involves providing high-quality patient care in wards, theatres, investigational and procedural areas, emergency department, and outpatients.
As a Service Registrar, you will be responsible for teaching junior medical officers and medical students. You will also be involved in research and audit work as required, attending weekly unit and combined cardiology cardiac surgery meetings, and participating in weekly tutorials as part of the cardiothoracic training program.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification
* Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
* At least 6 months prior experience in Cardiothoracic surgery at PGY3 level or above
* Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and other professional staff
* Commitment to delivering exceptional patient services
