Job Description:

* Develop and execute strategies to identify and target potential new customers through effective research and utilizing prospecting tools, industry websites, events and other resources.
* Respond and follow up on all leads with the goal of establishing business agreements and eventually turning leads into opportunities and customers.
* Engage with potential new customers through cold calls, emails and other outreach campaigns.
* Rigorously document communications and keep up-to-date the customer relationship management (CRM) database.
* Promptly initiate client proposals and amendments upon request from business development and operational teams with a target 3-day turnaround time.
* Refer to and update Salesforce CRM opportunities where applicable.
* Identify and communicate market trends and technologies that may impact sales strategies.
* Assist business development directors in responding to customer needs as they arise.
* Provide excellent customer service by following through with prompt solutions to all customer inquiries.
* Be a proactive, contributing member of commercial and business development teams.
* Contribute to short- and long-term territory business plans through in-depth understanding of customer needs and services provided.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers through scientific expertise and business acumen.
* Effectively work and communicate with internal business developers and subject matter experts; contribute to team and departmental initiatives outside of day-to-day selling in your territory.
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; post-graduate or MBA preferred.
* Scientific background required with experience in bioanalysis (LC-MS/MS or immunoassay) strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated track record of excellent communication skills in previous positions, both written and verbal.
* Confident, friendly, proactive team player and relationship-builder essential.
* Life science sales or marketing experience preferred.
* Familiarity with various sales concepts, practices, and procedures is an asset.
* Desire and motivation to develop a strong understanding of biotech and pharmaceutical sectors and hunt for new opportunities.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Able to perform all responsibilities of the position.
* Ability to work in virtual and field-based environments.
