Your Opportunity
As the Director, Injury Management, you will partner with all areas of Health Safety and Wellbeing to lead the strategic Health, Safety and Wellbeing direction for the department. This will include leading the strategic development, implementation and continuous improvement of injury management systems, policies and programs to support the health, safety and wellbeing of employees. You will lead the effective management of workers' compensation claims ensuring effective end to end claims management, including common law matters and providing strategic direction on premium control, cost minimisation and liability mitigation.
Responsibilities include:
* Develop and lead the departments injury management strategy, policies and frameworks, ensuring alignment with:
* Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld)
* Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (Qld)
* Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld)
* Human Rights Act
* Privacy Act
* Oversee the design and delivery of early intervention, rehabilitation and return to work programs, including psychological and psychiatric injury management and support broader organisational change aligned to health, safety and wellbeing priorities.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team overseeing injury prevention and claims management practices across the department, ensuring complex and high-risk cases are undertaken with best practice case management, high-quality outcomes and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
