Position Title: Clinical Nurse Consultant - Renal (Kowanyama)
Location: Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service, Kowanyama
Kowanyama is a very remote Aboriginal community on the western side of Cape York, where healthcare is built on relationships, trust, and community connection.
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant – Renal to provide specialist renal care and support patients throughout their chronic disease journey. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver culturally safe, community-based care, support patient education and care coordination, and help people manage their health closer to home and family.
This is more than a traditional renal nursing role. It offers the opportunity to work to your full scope of practice, build meaningful relationships with patients and community members, and make a difference in a remote primary healthcare setting.
We're looking for someone with strong renal nursing expertise, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, culturally aware, and committed to person‐centred care.
In return, you'll receive a competitive salary of $139,951 - $151,949 per annum, accommodation provided, relocation assistance, access to the Rural Area Remote Nursing Incentive Package, 5 weeks annual leave, 17.5% leave loading, and a 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
