YOUR ROLE
This Analyst sits within our Enterprise Valuations – Capital Markets team, which will see you working in a 12 month max term contract. As a key member of the team, you will be involved in performing internal and external enterprise valuations to support Mergers and Acquisitions activity, Board reporting and statutory requirements; as well as valuation/financial analysis to support strategy development and strategic initiatives within Corporate and Business Divisions.
This role would be suitable for a candidate with an analytical or mathematical discipline (eg, Actuarial studies, Finance, Statistics, Commerce, Accounting, Business, Economic) and an interest in valuations, mergers and acquisitions. A sound knowledge of financial services and some exposure to projects is preferred.
In this role you will be responsible for
1. Performing internal valuations and performance measurement of existing businesses
2. Performing valuation, financial modelling, analysis and due diligence support of any potential corporate development activities (merger, acquisition and divestment)
3. Extracting financial data from relevant finance systems for use in valuation analysis
4. Undertaking special projects in relation to providing valuation, financial analysis & advice to support Corporate and Divisional Requirements (transformational and strategic initiatives)
5. Assisting in building key stakeholder relationships (Group Strategy, divisional business managers and external financial advisors)
6. Conducting research and continuous improvement on the valuation framework
7. Ensuring all valuation processes are well defined, documented and continuously improved
ABOUT YOU
8. You have proven analytical/quantitative skills in interpreting financial information and ability to communicate outputs in written and verbal form
9. Minimum 3 years' experience in Professional Services Corporate Finance or Corporate Development roles, would be desirable
10. You are a strong communicator and relationship builder with the ability to engage with key stakeholders
11. Proficient level of MS Excel modelling skills
12. Knowledge of financial report systems (SAP, Cognos TM1) and frameworks
13. You have Tertiary qualifications in an analytical or mathematical discipline e.g., Actuarial studies, Finance, Statistics, Commerce, Accounting, Business, Economic or a related discipline
14. You are a member (or studying toward gaining a membership) of an accounting, finance, or actuarial professional body
15. Sound business/commercial acumen and relationship management skills
16. Able to manage competing priorities
