Job Description:
Join us to leverage your experience in electrical design and consultancy within the mining and minerals processing sector. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for developing detailed design drawings, participating in design reviews, and ensuring all designs meet accuracy standards and comply with relevant regulations.
We are seeking an experienced professional with a solid foundation in minerals processing, who is adaptable and proactive in complex project environments. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to expand your experience and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed design drawings in particular electrical schematics and terminations, panel layouts, single line diagrams, instrument drawing, and block diagrams.
* Develop 3D models of electrical equipment (including cable ladder, conduits, panels, and electrical equipment).
* Participate in design reviews and offer guidance on drafting challenges or compliance with relevant regulations.
* Maintain and update drafting task lists to ensure accurate tracking of work in progress.
* Contribute to regular project reporting, including updates on progress, resource needs, budget tracking, priorities, work allocation, and team support requirements.
* Ensure all drawings undergo thorough checking and review processes; verify that designs meet accuracy standards and comply with applicable codes, Australian and international standards, and company-specific guidelines.
* Adhere to the engineering design Change Management process.
* Maintain and update drawing registers, including tracking of completion status and progress metrics.
Requirements:
For this role, we require:
* Demonstrated expertise in design and consultancy within the mining and minerals processing industry.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising between clients, contractors, and internal teams.
* Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and quality assurance focus.
* Adaptable and proactive in complex, evolving project environments.
* Experience with client standards and specifications and ability to interpret and incorporate requirements.
* 10+ years industry experience.
* Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Navisworks, and Bentley MicroStation highly regarded.
