Meat Cutter Job Summary
To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for supporting the profitable operations of the meat department by maximizing sales, adhering to production standards, and ensuring yield standards from primals. You must be able to efficiently cut product from primals, work with pre-packed product, and manage inventory levels relative to expectations.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Deliver exceptional customer service by providing polite, friendly interactions with all customers.
2. Cut, weigh, and trim products according to established company standards.
3. Prominently display frozen and prepared meats, fresh meat cases, and ensure accurate pricing and rotation.
4. Maintain a high level of sanitation in cooler, sales, and prep areas, adhering to safety guidelines.
5. Provide special customer requests such as cutting, slicing, etc., while maintaining quality and freshness standards.
6. Communicate temperature failures to supervisors promptly.
7. Effectively communicate sale items on the PA system.
8. Support product receiving and storage efforts.
Key Qualifications:
1. Demonstrate a friendly and outgoing personality to foster positive customer relationships.
2. Show ability to work effectively within a team environment.
3. Ensure physical capabilities to lift 100 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs constantly.
4. Demonstrate adaptability to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
5. Develop effective communication and customer service skills.
6. Be at least 18 years old and possess the ability to work in cold environments.
7. Demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
8. Prior experience in meat cutting is highly preferred.
9. Meat cutting skill test qualifications are essential.
