Junior Accountant – Yilgarn Iron Ore Hub (WA)
TSS is delighted to be partnering with Yilgarn Iron as they restart their iron ore operations in the Yilgarn Hub, including Koolyanobbing, Windarling, and Parker Range. This is a unique chance to join a growing, hands-on team managing the financial side of a high-profile restart project.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Junior Accountant to support all financial activities associated with the Yilgarn operations. This is a practical, hands-on role covering shipping, invoicing, AP/AR, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliation, giving exposure to the full financial cycle in an operational mining workplace.
Key Responsibilities
Track arrival of trains and material delivered to port, ensuring accurate recording of grade and quantities.
Liaise with the sales broker on movements of shipping, ensuring invoices are raised in line with milestone payments.
Monitor material grading (lump, fines) and raise invoices based on final assay certificates.
Hands-on exposure to operational and financial activities across the mine, port, and marketing interfaces.
Support accounts payable and receivable processes.
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage payroll through ADP.
Occasional site visits, including to port or overseas, to monitor material delivery and reconciliation.
What We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Previous accounting experience, ideally in a mining / shipping workplace.
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
Valuable communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external partners.
Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple financial tasks concurrently.
