Systems Security Solutions Architect / Business Analyst – Mission INDRA (ASCA, Defence)
Azooa is assembling a high-calibre team for an exciting opportunity supporting theAdvanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA)andMission INDRAwithin Defence Science & Technology Group (DSTG).
We're responding to a formal RFQTS under the DSS Panel and are seekingExpressions of Interestfrom aLevel 3 Systems & Software Engineer (System Security)with strongsolutions architecture + business analysiscapability.

This role is part of our response to anASDEFCON Defence Support Services (DSS) RFQTSfor Mission INDRA.
We're seekingExpressions of Interest now, so we can include theright specialistin our proposal.
The Role – What You'll Do
You'll act as aSolutions Architect & Business Analyst (Engineering Support – System Security)atLevel 3 (Advanced Practitioner), supporting Mission INDRA's end-to-end system engineering and security architecture.
You'll work primarily fromBrindabella Circuit, Canberra ACT, on Defence ICT systems, collaborating with ASCA, AGO, DIG, JCG and other key stakeholders.
You won't just be writing documents – you'll be shaping a mission system.
Key responsibilities include:
Engineering Approach & System Architecture
?
Support the development of theengineering approachfor the Mission INDRA end-to-end system
?? Providesystems architecture and system security engineeringinput into solution options
?
Help align system design with Defence policies, KPPs and mission outcomes
Software Development Strategy & Management
?
Develop theSoftware Development Strategy (Engineering Management System)
?? Develop theSoftware Management Plan, covering:
?
Release management
?? Maintenance and sustainment approach
System Integration & Performance
?
Support and monitorintegration planningfor:
Field testing
Evaluation
?
Develop theSystem Integration Plan
?
DevelopSystem Performance Reviews, includingKey Performance Parameters (KPPs), on a90-day sprint cycle
Security Architecture & Risk Management
?? Coordinate the development of theSystem Security Plan (SSP) and Annex (SSP-A)
?? Lead the development of theSecurity Risk Management Plan (SRMP)
?
Ensure alignment with Defence security frameworks, DISP requirements and assurance expectations
Operational & Requirements Artefacts
?
Develop aConcept of Operations (CONOPS/OCD)that describes how Mission INDRA will be used by Defence stakeholders
?
Definesystem use casesacross networks and user groups
?
Lead theSystem Requirements Definition, including:
?
Alignment with definedKPPs
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
?
Work closely with ASCA and lead agencies (AGO, DIG, JCG) in a collaborative delivery environment
?
Participate inweekly progress meetings, providing succinct written updates, issue logs and risk identification
? Support reviews, approvals and alignment with ASDEFCON DID templates and CASG policies
You'll be responsible for (or heavily contributing to) artefacts such as:
?
Software Development Strategy (Engineering Management System)
?
Software Management Plan (including versioning, release management, maintenance)
?
System Performance Reviews & KPP definitions (per 90-day sprint)
?
System Security Plan (SSP) & Annex (SSP-A)
?
Concept of Operations (CONOPS/OCD)
You'll also support review/acceptance cycles with Defence, including incorporation of feedback and alignment with ASDEFCON and CASG guidance.
Candidate Profile – Level 3 Advanced Practitioner
?Current AGSVA NV1 or above(or ability to quickly re-activate)
?
Demonstratedsystem security engineeringexperience in complex, multi-network Defence or Federal Gov environments
?? Strong background as aSolutions Architect / Systems Engineerwith understanding of end-to-end mission systems
?
Experience defining and trackingKey Performance Parameters (KPPs)and system performance measures
?
Proven experience producing structuredengineering documentation, ideally with:
System engineering plans and integration artefacts
Security artefacts (SSP, SRMP, etc.)
?
Strongrequirements engineeringandbusiness analysisskillset – from capturing operational needs through to traceable system requirements and use cases
?
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across Defence, intelligence, and multi-agency environments
?? Familiarity with working entirely onDefence ICT systems, including secure repositories and document controls
?? Exposure toMETOC (meteorological & oceanographic) data, ISR or related information domains
?? Experience withSECRET and abovenetworks and cross-domain solutions
?
Familiarity withCASG systems integration guidanceand Defence engineering policies
?? Experience working within or alongside organisations withDISP Level 2 Governance and Personnel
?
Exposure toAI-enabled systemsand the specific security and performance considerations they bring
