As the Health & Safety Officer for the Parks branch, you’ll be the key link between corporate and operational teams, ensuring alignment and consistency across health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives. This role is central to fostering a proactive safety culture, providing expert guidance on legislation, risk management, incident response, and wellness programs.

You’ll work closely with leaders and staff to develop, implement, and review safety procedures and systems that meet both compliance standards and operational needs. From mentoring teams on risk control measures to supporting return-to-work programs, your influence will help shape a safer, healthier workplace and drive continuous improvement in safety practices.

Skills & Qualifications

- Tertiary Qualifications (Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Work Health & Safety or equivalent is highly regarded, and/or considerable prior experience in a safety role
- ICAM or similar lead investigator training (highly desirable)
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (highly desirable)
- Possession of 30215 QLD – General Safety Induction Card (known as a White Card)
- Possession of a current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence
- This position has been identified as having a ‘Significant Risk’ of exposure to a disease preventable by vaccination. Therefore, it is a compulsory requirement of the position that the incumbent have the following vaccinations (which may vary in the future) in accordance with the terms of The Australian Immunisation Handbook and Council's Worker Vaccination Management Directive. Vaccines for this position currently include: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus
