About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the role leads the delivery of key community services across Parking Compliance, Local Laws, Animal Control and School Crossings. Leading highly skilled direct reports and an overall team of 120+ staff, this key role will provide strong management support to the Executive Director, the broader Executive team, CEO and Councillors, acting as an advocate for high quality, best practice services across the municipality.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage the Department and its resources to deliver quality, effective, responsive and efficient customer focused services, supporting the Council as a high performing, organisation that partners with community
- Develop, implement, and manage programs and projects that protect, enhance and develop the City's services
- Embed a proactive, preventative and educational focus that emphasises the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities, while meeting statutory responsibilities
- Promote a collaborative and high performing culture, supporting and driving efficiencies to deliver service excellence
- Provide leadership in and influence on the delivery and maintenance of high levels of amenity in the public realm
This position will also be required to undertake roles and activities related to Emergency Management in preparation for and during times of crisis and is generally also appointed to the role of Municipal Fire Prevention Officer under delegation by the CEO.
