About the Role
The Finance Management at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an Asset Accountant on a permanent basis.
Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Asset Accountant will assist in delivering the Timely Investment Infrastructure Maintenance (TIIM) program and all associated asset accounting processes for Mackay Hospital Health Service (MHHS).
Responsibilities
* Provide technical advice on the interpretation and implementation of Accounting and Government Standards in relation to assets.
* Play a key role in the provision of statutory reporting in relation to assets and act as the key liaison for external and internal audit of the asset accounts.
* Provide high-quality technical analysis and support to the management team, including financial implications of proposals and initiatives concerning investment in assets.
About the Team
Finance Management consists of Financial Accounting, including Revenue, Assets and Management Accounting. The team provides routine and ad‐hoc information, analysis and advice for stakeholders such as the Executive, Service Directors, Business Managers and Clinicians.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi‐purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers approximately 90,000 km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Grenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
