Ocha Japanese and Thai Restaurant is a well-established and popular restaurant offering authentic Japanese and Thai cuisine meals. They are now seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to join their team in Cessnock, NSW.
The Role
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, leading the team, and ensuring an outstanding dining experience for their guests. This is a full-time role ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in hospitality management, with an annual salary of $80,000 plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate restaurant events and functions
* Manage high standards of quality, control and restaurant hygiene
* Check stock level and inventory
* Contact suppliers to order supplies
* Managing front of house staff and providing feedback to their work activities
* Respond immediately to customer complaints
* Meet and greet customer on menu and wind choice
* Plan and coordinate menus with restaurant chefs
* Recruit, train and motivate staff
* Supervise and organize rosters for kitchen, waiting and cleaning staff
* Analyze and plan restaurant sales and profitability
* Take responsibility of business performance of the restaurant
* Prepare report for the management regarding staff performance, food control and sales
Requirements
* Bachelor degree in hospitality management
* At least 4 years of proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a supervisory hospitality role
* Must have at least 4 years of menu planning experience including cost control and planning menu to budget
* Must have at least 4 years of people management and hospitality team leading experience
* At least 4 years' experience ensuring compliance with HACCP, liquor licensing, and WHS regulations.
* At least 4 years' experience in financial management, sales analysis, and profit optimisation
* At least 4 years' of experience managing staff rosters, service workflows, and labour allocation in a busy dine in food service environment
* Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a busy restaurant environment
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of food safety, WHS, and hospitality compliance requirements
* At least two recent work references
