Role Overview
Transport for NSW is seeking a School Crossing Supervisor – Part Time to work at Garden Suburb Public School. The successful candidate will conduct 20 hours of supervision per fortnight across the school zone hours to keep children, teachers, parents and local motorists safe.
Shift Details
* Morning shift: 8:20 – 9:20 AM, Monday‐Friday
* Afternoon shift: 2:45 – 3:45 PM, Monday‐Friday
Shifts run for 1 hour each, totaling 20 hours of supervision per fortnight. Super‐annuation is included and holidays are compensated for Terms 1‐3.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage school crossing activities during designated times.
* Ensure the safety of all road users and comply with all traffic and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, teachers and motorists.
* Maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe behaviour and respond quickly to incidents.
* Report incidents, observations and incidents to the appropriate authorities.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum 18 years of age at appointment.
* Reliable and available to work in all weather conditions.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, Reference Checks, Police Check and a Health Assessment.
* Previous experience with young people or in safety roles is an advantage (not required).
Recruitment Process
Applications close 11:59 pm on Wednesday 11 March 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the week commencing 12 March 2026 for a 5‐10 minute phone interview followed by panel interviews. Successful candidates will progress to pre‐employment checks. If deemed suitable, you may be considered for a casual position or joined to a talent pool for future vacancies.
