About The Role

Casual

The Coal Creek Tour Guide conducts tours of the park with groups of school students, teachers and adults to educate visitors about Coal Creek in a creative and memorable way. The Coal Creek Tour Guide reports directly to the Coordinator Arts, Culture and Visitor Economy and works within the Coal Creek team.

This role is responsible for delivering engaging and educational activities of the park for school groups, teachers and the general public, in line with direction from the Coordinator. The position focuses on interpreting and communicating the history and heritage of South Gippsland through commentary, classroom scenario, demonstrations and hands-on interactions with collections, while continuously building historical knowledge. The role requires flexibility and creativity to tailor tours to different group needs, adherence to schedules to ensure smooth transitions and positive visitor experiences and collaboration with the Coordinator and other staff to support program delivery and development.

About You

Experience in a tourism or museum environment;

Experience in providing educational guided tours to large groups;

A Satisfactory Police and Working with Children Check;

Well-developed interpersonal skills;
