The Role
Become a vital part of the RAAF's Air Warfare Engineering Squadron (AWE SQN), supporting aircraft and flight trials as an Electrical & Avionics Technical Specialist/Engineer.
This position offers a wide variety of challenging and rewarding tasks, as well as the opportunity to be involved in supporting Army, Navy and Air Force flight trials.
Your specialist electrical knowledge will be utilised within Systems Development Flight:
* Engineer designs across all Australian Defence Force platforms in the maritime, aviation domains, including designs on highly specialised flight test instrumentation support of aircraft stores compatibility flight clearances;
* Provide on-site engineering and technical expertise on in-service capability to support customers;
* Plan and execute aerospace air and ground verification and validation activities;
* Provide technical advice, analysis and recommendations on aerospace systems across the broader organisation;
* Conduct technical investigations, report findings and provide recommendations to management.

AWE SQN is a Defence unit operating as a Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) Approved 21J Design Organisation dedicated to the provision of specialist engineering designs and advice for:
* Aircraft Instrumentation and Specialist Aerospace Advice;
* Specialist Air Weapons and Stores Advice, including loading, clearance and employment of stores;
* Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radio Frequency Analysis Advice;
* Aerodynamic Modelling and Weapon Danger Area Safety Assessment;
* Prototyping and Mechanical / Electrical Manufacture of designs.

Eligibility
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 2”.
Mandatory Qualifications:
This technical position requires the individual to have obtained a recognised Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 6 qualification in a relevant technical domain or relevant skills and work experience such that an individual can reasonably achieve a recognised AQF qualification if required by the position.
