Douglas Machinery is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Sales Consultant to join our Whittlesea dealership. This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading agricultural and power equipment brands in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering outstanding sales and customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the dealership. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Demonstrating a strong passion for sales and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
* Assessing and interpreting customer enquiries to accurately identify needs and recommend suitable products or solutions
* Utilising OEM portals and Dealer Management Systems (DMS) to check stock availability, pricing, warranty details, and order status
* Interpreting and communicating technical product information to customers, as well as supporting the workshop with parts and equipment procurement
* Assisting with inventory management tasks, including stocktakes and receipting goods into the DMS
* Processing sales transactions, including invoicing and EFTPOS payments, in an accurate and timely manner
* Managing incoming phone calls and responding promptly to customer enquiries
* Maintaining a clean, professional, and well-presented showroom that effectively showcases our range of products

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven sales experience – Ideally in face-to-face retail or dealership sales. Experience in agricultural machinery, tractors, or power equipment will be highly regarded.
* Strong product knowledge or technical aptitude – You enjoy learning about machinery and confidently explaining features and benefits to customers.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills – You build trust quickly and take pride in delivering solutions.
* A positive, self-motivated attitude – You take ownership of your role, work well independently, and contribute positively to the team.
* Problem-solving skills – You approach challenges with confidence and a solutions-focused mindset.
* Adaptability in a fast-paced environment – You are computer-literate, quick to learn new systems, and comfortable using dealership software (experience with Biscount DMS is an advantage).
* Flexibility – Willingness to work weekends and attend agricultural field days and shows when required.
* A valid Australian driver's licence.
