The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years. An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment and Reporting Division in the Student Records Unit; Victorian Student Register (VSR) team for a fixed term VPS6 full-time position. * Salary: $152,773.00 - $174,869.00 (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%) * Fixed term till 31 May 2027 * Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions may be available) * Usual work location: East Melbourne Role Purpose The purpose of this role is to manage the Victorian Student Register (VSR), which holds Victorian Student Number (VSN) data for the purpose of monitoring and tracking students in the Victorian education and training system. The Manager Victorian Student Register supports a specialist data processing team to manage the VSR in accordance with legislative and policy obligations and responsibilities. The Manager leads policy development related to VSR management to ensure evolving privacy and data security standards are met when managing the VSR. The main components of the role include, but are not limited to: * Reforming VSR operations to be compliant with the Secretary's Guidelines on the Victorian Student Number, including developing new quality assurance and compliance functions. * Overseeing the servicing of data requests, including the exercise of statutory power to authorise organisations to receive VSN data. * Reporting on VSR usage to VCAA and DE Executives. * Leading strategic projects which use VSN data, including education research and program development. * Leading VCAA preparations for the implementation of the federal Unique Student Identifier. * Managing external stakeholder engagement to ensure data management expectations are understood and adhered to by education and training providers which input data into the VSR. * Overseeing VCAA contributions to VSR technical improvements. About the Division The Assessment and Reporting Division, within the VCAA, is responsible for: * the delivery and reporting of all VCE examinations and National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests * the development, delivery and marking of the General Achievement Test (GAT) * overseeing the marking of all VCE examinations, including written, performance and Languages oral examinations * managing the quality assurance and statistical moderation programs for VCE school-based assessments * the development of VCAA online assessment and marking systems * collecting, maintaining and processing student enrolment data and assessment results for VCE * issuing VCE and VPC certification to students under delegation from the VRQA * managing the Victorian Student Register and the issuing of Victorian Student Numbers * providing technical and professional support for assessment and reporting matters to the VCAA Board, internal and external stakeholders * liaising with national and international bodies on assessment and reporting matters. Attributes The successful applicant will have strong project management skills, be a strong people leader, possess highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills, combined with a flexible approach and specialist knowledge in relation to data governance processes and privacy principles. Experience and qualifications Desirable : Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
