Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2
Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 to join the Specialist Palliative and End of Life Care Service at the Long Jetty Health Care Facility in Gosford, Central Coast region.
This full‐time, permanent position offers a weekly remuneration of $2,780 – $2,835.50, with 38 hours per week and includes an annual leave loading of 17.5%, accrued day off each month, salary packaging options, and additional benefits such as discounted gym memberships, free flu vaccinations, telehealth support and an Employee Assistance Program.
Responsibilities
- Improve safety and quality through evidence‐based practice, education, clinical service planning, change management and expert consultancy with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Role‐model advanced nursing practice by demonstrating high level clinical knowledge, skills, experience and judgement.
- Lead quality and risk initiatives that embed contemporary evidence and support nurses and teams to deliver appropriate clinical care.
- Provide expert clinical advice and deliver specialty education programmes that build capability and strengthen safe, high quality care.
- Plan, implement and evaluate care aligned with evidence and recognised standards.
- Collaborate with consumers and teams to design and deliver safe, effective and efficient models of care consistent with CCLHD priorities.
- Assess contemporary issues in service delivery, clinical practice, research and policy, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Develop and evaluate role‐specific plans to support ongoing service improvement.
- Provide timely reports and recommendations that maintain nursing standards and guide future service direction.
- Assist in the collection, management and reporting of data related to activity‐based funding across the district as well as clinical outcome measures including the Palliative Care Outcome Collaborative (PCOC).
- Take an active role in relevant governance committees including the LHD Advanced Care Planning End of Life Committee, Drugs and Therapeutics Committee, NSW Health Sub and Non‐Acute Care Working Group, departmental Mortality and Morbidity meetings, Research and Clinical Practice Committee and other meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 23) with at least five years' post‐registration experience, including three years in a specialty setting.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and a current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
- Demonstrated leadership skills that support the ongoing development of evidence‐based clinical practice.
- Ability to work effectively within acute and primary health care service delivery models, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Experience in education, clinical leadership, mentoring and staff supervision.
- History of initiating and contributing to planning, quality improvement initiatives and research activities.
- Current work rights in Australia or eligible as a permanent resident or citizen.
Additional Requirements
- Compliance with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive, including mandatory evidence of protection from specified infectious diseases and an annual influenza vaccination.
- Category B positions may recommend but not require COVID‐19 vaccination; evidence of compliance must be provided prior to commencement.
